![]() ![]() Sorry if this seems convoluted, I've been going down the Google hole and would rather open a dialogue.Įdit: One more question: does reducing buffer size decrease sound quality? I obviously want the tracks to sound their best before mixing. Setting buffer size to low and recording with a lightweight distortion plugin? Then cranking up the buffer and adding bias fx 2? Short of buying an Axe fx with little to no latency, how should I be going about this? That, obviously if you plan on using distortion can affect your playing and doesn't seem feasible to me. ![]() What are some best practices while recording guitar? I know playing thru bias fx adds latency to your playing and monitoring but I was wondering if tracking with no plugins and adding them later is best? I need to do it for all takes where BIAS FX2 is applied. I need to go to FX section of the take, open BIAS FX2, wait till it is loaded, then I can close it. However every time after I restart Reaper, the takes are not playing with the sound. I guess I'm really looking to pick someone's brain. Hi folks, I recorded some guitar take with BIAS FX2 preset in Reaper. I notice using ASIO drivers I can reduce my latency to fairly acceptable levels while having the bias fx plug-in loaded while recording and monitoring. I have been using Reaper and my interface is the focusrite solo 2nd gen. I'm fairly new to recording, have done some in the past but now I am being a grown up about it using the click in Reaper and playing with bias fx 2 elite.īias is really great, you can dial in a lot of stuff and to my ears sounds pretty damn good for software fx processing. We'd love to hear what you have produced with Reaper, but please post it in the weekly sticky.
